A new report from the New York Daily News finds that the city of New York provided 1 Billion (yes.. Billion with a "B") dollars in tax breaks for the team to build their new stadium, mainly through inflated property values and promised non-existent jobs. In addition, the Yankees have announced they will be raising prices for all seats at the new stadium as well to make sure they fully screw the average fan.
Its nice to know that even though the Yankees are by far the richest team in baseball (and aside from the Cowboys, sports in general) really have their fans best interest in mind.
As an aside, I've always felt that the Yankees were akin to Republicans, and now, seeing this only solidifies that statement.
