In the name of National Secur.... err perhaps not

Here at the Jug Band, we've never been huge fans of New York Metro teams... and it seems like the Yankees, in the thrust of some serious Security Theater have been called out by the Post (h/t to King Kaufman @ Salon):

All-Stars

My Friday post was victimized by my work network connection (which is now apparently occasionally toxic to my laptop). I'll revisit some of the points this week in more detail...

One part of the six-pack was dedicated to tonight's All-Star game. Which didn't have any particularly original thoughts. I just want to have some official patch of cyber-ground where I can re-point out the complete absurdity of having HFA in the World Series determined by the outcome of this exhibition.

I remember being a kid and begging my dad to let me stay up to see if Bruce Hurst would get to pitch (he did not). But that was twenty years ago. Now, I'll be damned if I'm going to listen to Joe Buck and our friend Tim blather their pre-packaged story lines and product placements for four hours tonight (does anyone know where the game's being played? I haven't been able to find out). But should the Sox return to the Series this year, the only way they'll get four games at Fenway is if the AL wins this game tonight?

This key determinant of the World Championship could potentially come down to a showdown between George Sherrill and Nate McLouth?

Not team record.

Not league record in interleague play.

Not anything tangible.

All I hope is that noone gets injured.
