NBA Officiating

I'd like to quickly comment on Yablo's inference that nobody cares about the crooked NBA officiating. As I mentioned, we knew that the calls would be in L.A.'s favor, but that by no means makes it right or just. Its been said before (and I regrettably do not remember who said it) that refs are often swayed by the home crowd and that unconsciously effects their decisions. While I'm certainly not a conspiracy theorist, and I don't believe that most NBA refs are toeing the NBA corporate line (and the other insinuations that the Tim Donaghy scandal has produced) it does seem like the NBA needs a complete overhaul of their officiating: both the crew and the culture.

I think we should petition Ed Hochuli to become an NBA ref... teach him the rules and let 'em play!
